It must be a nervous time at the moment for Josh Coppins and his Yamaha team. Sitting there watching his massive lead dissolve away as he wills his body to heal. One thing for sure this kiwi battler has an enormous amount of folks back here praying and urging him to achieve his life time goal. It must have been difficult at times facing off week in week out against arguably one of the greatest riders in history "Everts" so in his heart I am sure he knows this is his moment in the sun. I wrote to him to tell him we back him 100% and to stay focessed. His reply to me was typical from an elite athlete, "I will never give up"
He is a winner for sure. I read something the other day, I don't know who the author is but I thought it is outstanding. It's called the Winners Creed and it goes like this,

If you think you are beaten you are
If you think you dare not, you don't
If you like to win but think you can't
It's almost certain you wont
If you think you'll lose, you're lost for out in the world we find
Success begins with with a persons will:
It's all in the state of mind
If you think you are outcalssed you are:
You've got to think high to rise
You've got to be sure of yourself before you can ever win the prize.
Lifes battles don't always go to the stronger or faster person:
But sooner or later the person who wins is the person who thinks they can.

I thought it was great and it supports my views because I get so sick to death of people and teams fighting to be the under dog. As the famous prophet chopper says "Harden Up"and back yourself.
It just goes to show you  a guy from a small town in New Zealand who backed himself, done the hard work will become a legend and hopefully inspire a number of kids to follow in his foot steps.
A quick reminder to all of you please ensure your machine is under the noise limits at the coming MX Champs. We have to all work together to ensure our sport continues to thrive. You can read more about this on our website www.mnz.co.nz
Stay safe until next time
